Fire & Smoke Restoration
Fire and smoke restoration is the cleaning, deodorizing and rebuilding of a property after a fire. Most of the lasting damage is not from flame — it is from soot and smoke residue, which is acidic and continues etching metal, glass, grout and finishes for as long as it sits. Response time changes the outcome, which is why we treat a small kitchen fire as urgently as a structural one.
Smoke residue is acidic. Left alone it etches glass and chrome, discolors grout and stone, and permanently stains finishes that would have cleaned up in the first days. This is the single biggest reason a fast call costs less than a careful one.
Air fresheners and ozone alone do not solve smoke odor, because the smoke is inside porous material — drywall, insulation, carpet pad, framing, fabric. Real deodorizing means cleaning or removing the material holding it, then sealing what remains.
Where there was a fire there was suppression, and that water is now in the structure. Fire jobs are almost always water jobs too, which means extraction and documented drying run alongside the soot work.
This valley heats with wood more than most places, and that puts chimney and stove fires near the top of the list. A chimney fire can be brief and still push smoke through an entire house, leaving an odor problem far larger than the visible damage suggests.
The other local pattern is the unoccupied house, where a small fire that would have been caught in minutes instead burns itself out and then sits with the residue setting for days or weeks before anybody opens the door.

Although there were some bumps in the road ( delay of shipment of materials, which was beyond his control) Hayden was a very good communicator throughout my repairs as was he true to his word. As soon as the fire department releases the property. Soot is acidic and etching starts immediately, so the difference between calling the same day and calling next week is often the difference between cleaning a surface and replacing it.
Most of it can be saved. Odor lives in porous material, so the work is cleaning or removing what is holding it and sealing what stays. We will tell you honestly when something is not salvageable.
We document the loss to the standard carriers require — photographs, scope, inventory of affected contents and materials — and we work directly with your adjuster. The claim is yours, but the evidence behind it is ours to produce.
It gets treated as a water loss, with extraction, drying and documented moisture readings, running alongside the smoke work. Skipping it is how a fire turns into a mold job.
